CPS formulates and distributes bulk fertilizer compounds at <br /> the site. Pesticides are sold and distributed in sealed containers. In accordance with a contractual <br /> arrangement between Unocal and CPS, Unocal has authorized Sierra-Pacific Groundwater <br /> Consultants,Inc. (Siena-Pacific)to conduct a limited soils investigation at the former PureGroBrea <br /> facility. We must determine the depth to which agricultural chemicals have penetrated soils <br /> underlying two former evaporation ponds. A work plan is enclosed for your consideration. We <br /> would like to proceed immediately. This phase of work at the site is not being done in direct <br /> response to a lead agency (RWQCB) directive or request. However, RWQCB will be provided <br /> relevant technical data and "reportable" laboratory results. <br /> Would you determine whether Unocal's existing San Joaquin County soil boring permit is still valid <br /> for the 1905 North Broadway Avenue site? Please let me know what else is required. Sierra- <br /> Pacific completed the fourth-quarter 1994 monitoring event on 30 December 1994. We would like <br /> to sample some nearby monitoring wells (Ultramar Cardlock #9, George F. Schuler, etc.) on the <br /> next round of ground-water monitoring.
