1 - Aquifer Testing Work Plan •
Former PureGm
Broadway
Facility
Stockton,
North Broadway Avenue -
Stockton,California
Siena-Pacific Project No. 94.055.05
' 4.0 PROPOSED AQUIFER TESTING PROGRAM
' The proposed PureGro Stockton site aquifer testing program will consist of a series of well installations,
' tests, and analyses. Major elements of the testing program may be adjusted, modified, or even
eliminated as geologic and empirical data is developed. The body of accumulated scientific data will
' allow Sierra-Pacific to design an efficient remediation system based on accurate hydrogeologic
information. The following program tasks are listed in the order in which they must be considered or
' completed.
' 4.1 Site Development and Construction
The extraction well and new observation wells will be constructed west of the former unlined pond at
' the northwest corner of the facility, on the rear portion of the Giglio property (Figure 3). The Giglio
property must be fenced and gated. Building materials, wood, brush, and debris must be removed from
' the site. There is enough brush and debris to justify bringing a transfer container to the site. A storm
water drainage ditch follows Report Avenue. Approximately 600 linear feet of 6-foot chain-link fence
' with overhead spirals of razor-wire will be installed. The fence will be constructed with a 4-foot-wide
gate on the west side of the fenced area, and a 10-foot-wide truck-gate on the east side of the enclosure.
' Gates will be locked.
With approval from the San Joaquin County Public Works Department, a culvert and a wooden plank
bridge will be constructed on the Report Avenue (east) side of the Giglio property to provide truck
' access to the drill sites and proposed pilot pump-and-treat system. The bridge planks will be founded
with concrete footings.
' 4.2 Select Sites and Drill Soil Borines
' Three new wells will be sited at the Giglio property, one extraction well and two observation wells. The
observation wells may consist of nested multiple wells at each location shown on Figure 7. Existing
' monitoring wells MW-2 and MW-8 will also be used as observation wells during the aquifer tests. The
two new observation wells can also be utilized in future as monitoring wells for vertical contaminant
' SIERRA-PACIFIC GROUP 5
1
