Anchor all USTs using tank anchors as detailed in the permit application and per manufacturer's written
install instructions.
8. Install concrete of sufficient thickness over USTs, around sumps and dispensers, according to the
manufacturer's written installation instructions and buoyancy calculations.
9. Install all product and vent piping according to manufacturer's written installation instructions; maintain all
appropriate piping distances and installation depths.
10. All appropriate test ports must be installed to facilitate routine communication testing (e.g. at the beginning
and end of each vacuum zone branch, and inside brine filled sumps, etc). No additional shut off valves
should be installed between the monitored interstitial spaces and their respective sensors.
11. All monitoring systems shall be listed in the State Water Resources Control Board's Local Guidance Letter
(LG) 113 letter.
12. All installation and testing shall be in compliance with manufacturer's instructions, section 2635 and section
2636 of California Code of Regulations (CCR).
13. Sumps and under dispenser containment must be constructed in a manner to prevent vapors from entering
the backfill.
15. All secondary containment must be constructed to prevent water intrusion.
16. The secondary containment system must be continuously monitored as required under California Health
& Safety Code (HSC) 25290.1
17. Overfill prevention shall satisfy CCR 2635(b)(2)(C) pursuant to the permit application, all appropriate drop
tube and tank gauge design calculations shall be provided to the EHD prior to scheduling of the overfill
verification inspection.
18. No ball floats shall be installed on vent lines to comply with the overfill prevention requirements (40 C.F.R.
§ 280.20(c))
19. All metal components in direct contact with the ground such as flexible connectors, swing joints, fittings,
clamps, bands, and pumps shall have adequate corrosion protection.
20. A "Certification of Installation / Modification" form for installed tanks shall be submitted into CERS by the
owner or the owners' agent [pursuant to California Code of Regulation (CCR) 2635(d)] before this UST
installation will be considered complete by the EHD.
21.
