A total of 250 gallons of DEF was released,45 gallons to the ground and the rest to the secondary <br /> containment. <br /> OBSERVATIONS: <br /> Arrived on site and met with Kelly Durrer, Safety and Risk Manager for Super Store Industries and Al Hollander with Smart <br /> Transportation. Approximately 250 gallons of diesel exhaust fuel(DEF)was released from a plastic tote. Approximately <br /> 205 gallons of DEF was released into the secondary containment pallet and 45 gallons of DEF was released to the ground. <br /> Spill occurred outside the maintenance shop on the south side of the building. No waterways or storm drains were impacted <br /> by the release. Clean-up was conducted by Super Store Industries. Clean-up was verified by the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department(EHD). One white 1x1 yard bag of solid waste was generated and four 55 gallon blue <br /> plastic drums of waste. Waste will be disposed of next week as hazardous waste. Super Store Industries to provide the <br /> EHD with final disposal records. <br /> VIOLATIONS: <br /> Discharge of any waste, including sewage <br /> (CA Health and Safety Code 5411) <br /> Discharge of waste or sewage to water or within 150 ft. of waterway <br /> (SJC Ordinance Code Sections 9-1125.3, 9-1125.4) <br /> Improper disposal of a hazardous waste <br /> (CA Health and Safety Code 25189.5) <br /> Permitting or Maintaining a Nuisance <br /> (SJC Ordinance Code Section 8-5100) <br /> Other Violation <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTIONS/ORDER: <br /> Investigate and abate contamination under the oversite of the appropriate lead agency. <br /> • Submit copies of hazardous waste manifests/disposal records to the EHD. <br /> Other Correction <br /> EHD 25-01 Rev.08/17/17 Page 1 of 2 WASTE DISCHARGE/SPILL RESPONSE NOTICE TO ABATE <br /> 1868 E.
