Aurora Street
Stockton, California
Dear Ms. Duncan:
In discussion with JJW Geosciences, Inc., Mr. John Cervantes of JC Trucking concurred with
our recommendation to use the ozone Injection system approved by San Joaquin County EHD
for groundwater remediation to remediate the soil contamination in the vadose'zone beneath
the former UST excavation site. JJW discussed cost reimbursement with a representative from
the State Tank Fund for soil remediation utilizing the ozone system that is to be installed for
groundwater remediation. The Tank Fund representative stated that there should not be any
problems with reimbursement since any additional costs related to the soil cleanup would be
minimal if any.
If it is determined that the contaminated soil is not being remediated satisfactorily, after a
sufficient period of time has elapsed, additional remediation efforts specific to the soil
contamination can be considered and will be proposed.
Mr. Cervantes is currently working with PG&E to establish electrical service to the site for the
operation of the ozone system. The time estimate for PG&E to provide service is approximately
four more weeks from now. JJW expects the ozone system delivery to be within eight weeks
from electric service hook-up. JJW is estimating eight weeks for installation and report writing.
JJW is planning on having the ozone system assembled, installed, and operating and a report
submitted to the San Joaquin County EHD by the end of May 2004.
If you should have any questions please feel free to call the undersigned.
Respectfully,
JJW GEOSCIENCES INC.
Mark Jerpbak, R.G.
cc: John Cervantes,JC Trucking
James Barton, CVRWQCB
11350 Monier Park Place, Rancho Cordova, CA 95742 Tel: 916.853.8025 Fax: 916.853.8029
