This investigation was <br /> performed for Florsheim Homes (Florsheim). EMC understands that Florsheim is <br /> considering purchasing the property to develop homes. <br /> . Background <br /> In June 1994, EMC reviewed reports of investigations-prepared by Levine-Fricke " <br /> Consultants for the Grupe Development Company including a report,titled <br /> Environmental Site Assessment Report, Ripkin Development Site, San Joaquin County, <br /> California, dated March 23, 1989. The report'indicatcd.that in 1987 a gasoline or <br /> diesel underground storage tank (UST) was removed from the site, and no evidence <br /> was found to indicate that soil'samples were collected during removal. Soil samples <br /> collected.in 1989 by Levine-Fricke were only collected at 3 feet below ground surface <br /> (bgs) which was too shallow to determine if soil was impacted near the groundwater <br /> table, approximately 6 feet bgs. EMC proposed to drill three borings around the <br /> former UST location, and collect soil samples for analysis. Our recommendations were <br /> presented in our June 20, 1994 letter to Florsheim. <br /> Limitations <br /> This investigation was performed-in a manner consistent with -the level.of care and skill <br />[ e ordinarily exercised by members of the profession currently practicing in the same <br /> locality under similar conditions.
