4.0 EMERGENCY RESPONSE <br /> ♦ Remember this must be specific to the site and discussed with the client/facility manager. <br /> This must be coordinated with other contractors working on the site. This can be done at the initial site meeting, but do not forget to do <br /> it. <br /> ♦ In addition to injuries and illnesses noted here, this section should also address how the client wants us to respond to: the public or the <br /> press, tires, bomb threats, etc. <br /> ♦ You must discuss emergency response at the pre-startup meeting with the contractor to make sure that you can act on the response <br /> plan in the event of an emergency. <br /> ♦ All STANTEC staff on site must have completed CPR and First Aid training. <br /> ♦ In the event of an injury or illness, notification of the family of the individual involved shall-be made as promptly as possible following the <br /> office's emergency action plan. <br /> ♦ You must have an eyewash bottle with you on site in case you get something in your eyes. <br /> ♦ If there is any type of emergency (injury, spill, etc.), work is to be shut down until the situation that caused the emergency is <br /> corrected and work can resume without further risk of a similar incident. <br /> ♦ All incidents regardless of severity and all near misses shall be reported immediately, (after stabilizing the victim(s)/Site), to <br /> the STANTEC Project Manager who will then contact Philip Platcow, Director.of IHIH & S, Peggy Ramos, Human Resources <br /> and Michael Philipp, Il/NMI Program Manager. The Project Manager together with Philip Platcow (or Michael Philipp if Mr. <br /> Platcow is not available) shall then communicate with the client Project Manager in accordance with the client's incident <br /> reporting guidelines. Client and STANTEC incident reporting guidelines are contained in Attachment 1 and Attachment 3. <br /> The Site Health & Safety Officer (SHSO) must be familiar with the directions to the hospital given in Section 1. (It has become common <br /> to take directions off the Intemet. In some cases these directions are no longer correct. It is the SHSO's responsibility to ensure that the <br /> directions stated in the HASP are absolutely accurate. It may be advisable to ask the client or call a local institution for directions.) <br /> Jury or Illness - <br /> If an injury or illness occurs, take the following action: - <br /> ♦ Determine if emergency response (flrelambulance) staff are necessary. If so, dial 911 or (209) 937-8801 (Stockton Fire Department) <br /> on a.cell.phone or closest available phone..(in the Shop Maintenance Building). ,Provide the location of the injured person and other <br /> details as requested. If it makes sense to take an individual to the hospital, follow the directions in Section 1. <br /> ♦ Get First Aid for the person immediately. Utilize first aid kit in vehicle. Also utilize the bloodborne pathogens kit. (Make sure you have <br /> both kits, or one combined kit). k . <br /> ♦ Notify the SHSO immediately. The SHSO is responsible for contacting the STANTEC Project Manager immediately after stabilizing the <br /> victim(s)/site. The STANTEC Project Manager shall then immediately contact Peggy Ramos in STANTEC's Human Resources, Philip <br /> Platcow, Director of IH/H&S and Michael Philipp. The STANTEC Project Manager along with the SHSO, and the Office Health & <br /> STANTEC Consulting Corporation <br /> 4-1 <br />
