investigation and remedial planning study. The tasks of this
investigation inglude the following:
Task A: Acquire Permits
Alton Geoscience will procure all necessary permits,
schedule field activities, and locate underground
utility lines prior to commencement of field work.
Task B: Install Exploratory Soil Borings, and Ground Water
Monitoring wells
To further assess the lateral and vertical extent of
petroleum hydrocarbons in the soil and ground water,
five soil borings will be drilled to minimum total
depths of 70 fbg. Three soil borings will be
converted into monitoring wells. Soil borings will be
drilled using a truck mounted CME-75 drilling rig
with 10-inch-diameter hollow-stem augers. The
proposed soil borings and monitoring well locations
are shown on Figure 2, Site Plan. The exact boring
locations will be determined following communication
with the SJCEHD and underground utilities location
search and may vary depending on actual field
conditions.
Procedures for drilling and soil sampling will be in
accordance with the technical specifications and
applicable requirements and guidelines of the
regulatory agencies. Prior to drilling, each
borehole location will be surveyed by a private
utility search. Additionally, each boring will be
manually excavated to a minimum depth of 4 fbg.
Diameter of the manually excavated borings will be
at least it inches. General procedures for drilling,
soil sampling, and monitoring well construction are
included in Appendix A.
Task C: Develop. Sample, and Survey,..Ground Water,
Monitoring Wells
New monitoring wells will be developed and sampled in
accordance with the technical specifications and
applicable requirements and guidelines of SJCEHD and
the RWQCB. Following development, all monitoring wells
be purged and sampled. General monitoring well
development, sampling, and surveying procedures are
included in Appendix A.
Task D: Analyze Soil and .Ground Water Samples
All soil and water samples will be transported to a
California-certified laboratory for analysis
following proper chain of custody procedures.
