1 ` <br /> • Lei <br /> Environmental Consultants Inc a� <br /> GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES <br /> Project No 58100-06-62 <br /> August 22, 1996 <br />' California Department of Transportation <br /> District 10 <br />' 1976 Charter Way <br /> Stockton, California 95201 <br />' Attention Mr Sawed Ali <br /> Subject SHOP 10 FACILITY <br /> DISTRICT 10 MAINTENANCE STATION <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> CONTRACT NO 53W202 <br /> TASK ORDER NO 10-911175-A9 <br /> GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT- THIRD QUARTER 1996 <br /> Dear Mr Alt <br /> iIn accordance with Caltrans Task Order No 10-911175-A9, dated June 26, 1995, Geocon <br /> Environmental Consultants, Inc (Geocon) has performed groundwater monitoring activities at the <br /> above subject site The scope of services provided by Geocon included groundwater level <br /> measurements, the sampling of nine monitoring wells, and the submittal of groundwater samples to a <br /> California certified laboratory for analytical testing <br /> BACKGROUND <br />' Site Location <br /> The site consists of the Caltrans Shop 10 Maintenance Station located at 1603 South B Street in <br /> Stockton, California The approximate site location is depicted on the attached Vicinity Map, Figure <br /> i 1 <br /> Site Conditions <br /> i In February and March 1989, four gasoline/diesel fuel underground storage tanks (USTs) and one <br /> 1,000 gallon waste oil UST were removed Samples collected from beneath the former USTs <br /> indicated the presence of residual total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) in soils at <br />' concentrations ranging from 2 2 to 3,700 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) <br /> Initial subsurface investigation at the site was performed by Woodward Clyde Consultants (WCC) in <br />' 1987 WCC work included the installation and sampling of four groundwater monitoring wells <br /> (MW-1 through MW-4) Additional investigation was performed between April 1989 and March <br /> 1990 by WCC which consisted of the installation of five additional groundwater monitoring wells <br /> (MW-5 through MW-9) Alton Geoscience(Alton) installed three new groundwater monitoring wells <br /> (MW-10 through MW-12) and drilled two soil borings (AB-1 and A13-2) in April 1992, and <br /> Environmental Assessors, Inc (EA) installed six monitoring wells (MW-13, MW-14, MW-16, <br /> MW-19, MW-20 and MW-24) and drilled four soil borings (SB-15, S13-17, SB-18 and SB-22) in <br /> October 1993 to complete characterization of site conditions <br /> 3235 Sunrise Blvd,suite 6 <br /> Rancho Cordova,CA 95742 <br />' (9i 6)852-8118 <br /> Fax(918)852-9132 <br />
