AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS <br /> rProject No S8100-06-62 <br /> November 27, 1996 <br /> ' California Department of Transportation <br /> District 10 <br /> ' 1976 Charter Way <br /> Stockton, California 95201 <br /> Attention Mr Saiyed Ali <br /> Subject DISTRICT 10 MAINTENANCE STATIONS <br /> STOCKTON YARD FACILITY <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> CONTRACT NO 53W202 <br /> TASK ORDER NO 10-911175-A9 <br /> GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT- FOURTH QUARTER 1996 <br /> ' Dear Mr Ali <br /> In accordance with Caltrans Task Order No 10-911175-A9, dated June 26, 1995, Geocon <br /> Environmental Consultants, Inc (Geocon) has performed groundwater monitoring activities at the <br /> subject site The scope of services provided by Geocon included groundwater level measurements, <br /> the sampling of fourteen monitoring wells, and the submittal of groundwater samples to a California <br /> certified laboratory for analytical testing <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> ' Site Location <br /> The project site consists of the Caltrans District I0 Stockton Yard facility located at 1604 South B <br /> ' Street in Stockton, California The 4 acre site is part of Caltrans' District 10 Headquarters complex <br /> and is utilized as an equipment maintenance and storage facility The approximate site location is <br /> depicted on Figure 1 The project boundaries are shown on the Site Plan, Figure 2 <br /> ' Site Conditions <br /> ' The Stockton Yard was built in approximately 1955 and utilized a fueling station located within the <br /> northwest portion of the site It is understood that one 5,000-gallon diesel underground storage tank <br /> (UST), one 10,000-gallon unleaded gasoline UST, two pump islands and associated product piping <br /> ' were removed from the site in 1989 Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in excavation soil <br /> samples indicating that the UST systems had impacted the surrounding soil Total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons as gasoline and diesel (TPHg and TPHd) were reported in soil at concentrations of <br /> 2,000 and 58 milligrams per kilogram, respectively <br /> 3235 Sunrise Blvd, Suite 6 11 Rancho Cordova, California 95742 0 Telephone (916) 852 9118 ❑ Fax (916) 852-9132 <br />
