Click here for more information. <br />The structure and objectives of this course are based on compliance with California Title 22 <br />1. Define hazardous waste. <br />2. Understand the background and need for hazardous waste regulations. <br />3. Define generation of hazardous waste. <br />4. Understand RCRA and non-RCRA waste classifications. <br />5. Define the terms generator and co -generator. <br />6. List the three classes of generators and know what episodic generator means. <br />7. Understand how waste accumulation works including waste accumulation sites and satellite <br />accumulation sites. <br />8. Identify safety considerations when accumulating hazardous waste. <br />9. Understand the basic toxicology and terminology relating to hazardous waste. <br />10. Understand the importance of proper record keeping and reporting requirements for generators. <br />11. Recognize a Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest and what information is required. <br />12. Be able to accurately fill out a Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest. <br />13. Discuss new regulations regarding universal hazardous waste. <br />14. Understand the need for proper training and emergency response. <br />15. Understand the differences between federal hazardous waste regulations and state hazardous <br />waste agency regulations. <br />16. Meet the requirements of Title 22 CCR 66262.34 for certification as a hazardous waste handler <br />i• • <br />In order to certify that you have covered the required elements, students will complete 7 self -paced <br />lessons, review questions at the end of 3 of the sections, and successfully complete a final exercise and <br />final test via electronic format. No text is required for this course; all course materials are available <br />online. The course will take approximately 4 hours to complete. Upon registration, you will receive a <br />password via email, giving you access to the course contents at http://classes.hazmatschool.com/. <br />Passing this course requires completing end -of -section review questions and a final manifesting exercise <br />and completing the final test with a grade of 75% or better. There is no passing grade required for the <br />end -of -section review questions, but you must make an honest attempt to answer them. The <br />manifesting exercise must be completed to the Instructor's satisfaction. If you do not receive a grade of <br />at least 75% on the final quiz, you may retake the quiz up to a total of three (3) times. <br />• tI 410 r r 0 <br />The course is designed to be self -paced. You may stay enrolled in this four-hour class for up to one <br />month. After one month, you will need to re -enroll. Upon successful completion of the course, we will <br />verify your work, and you will receive a certificate via email in a couple of days. <br />►:• <br />You may submit, at any time of day or night, an electronic registration form to take this course.
