Tank assessments were not available on site for the used oil and used antifreeze tanks. A <br />hazardous waste generator shall obtain and keep on site a written assessment for each hazardous <br />waste tank at the facility. This assessment shall be reviewed and certified by an independent, qualified, <br />professional engineer, registered in California, and shall attest to the tank system's integrity. The <br />assessment shall determine that the tank system is adequately designed and has sufficient structural <br />strength and compatibility with the waste stored, and shall be written in accordance with Title 22 <br />regulations. Immediately obtain a written tank assessment for all hazardous waste tanks at this facility in <br />accordance with Title 22 regulations, maintain copies on site at the facility, and submit a copy of the <br />certified assessments to the EHD. <br />85. Copies of universal waste disposal records were not found on site. A generator of universal waste <br />(alkaline batteries, fluorescent bulbs, aerosol cans, electronics, mercury containing equipment, CRTs) <br />shall keep a record of each shipment of universal waste on site for at least three years. The record may <br />take the form of a log, invoice, manifest, bill of lading, or other shipping document, and shall include the <br />following: <br />- Name & address of destination facility <br />- Quantity & type of universal waste <br />- Date of departure/shipment <br />Begin this practice immediately. <br />Complete and submit a copy of the Return to Compliance Certification to the EHD by March 20, 2011 <br />along with a statement documenting the corrective actions that have been or will be taken for each <br />violation and any supporting paperwork. <br />"Facility generated 35.65 tons of hazardous waste in 2010 and is being placed in a higher permit <br />category (25<50 tons/year).
