Project No S8100-06-IIA
June 29, 1995
The results of groundwater monitoring performed by Nmyo & Moore in June 1994, indicated TPHg
concentrations in each well ranging between 588 and 1,500 ug/L TPHd was not detected above the
' laboratory equipment detection limit for each well Benzene was detected at concentrations ranging from
238 to 13,700 ug/L Groundwater was reported at a depth of approximately 20 1 meters (66 feet) bgs
Geocon sampled MW-1 through MW-3 in March 1995 The results of laboratory tests indicated TPHg
and TPHd concentrations in each well ranging between 1,400 and 2,200 ug/L, and 100 and 280 ug/L,
respectively Benzene was detected at a concentration of 150 ug/L for each of the three wells
' Groundwater was encountered at a depth of approximately 19 8 meters (65 feet bgs) The groundwater
gradient was determined to be 0 0007 to the north
' A cumulative summary of the historical soil and groundwater analytical results for the site are presented
on Tables I and III, respectively
' 23 SCOPE OF SERVICES
Outlined below is a summary of the scope of services performed by Geocon under Task Order
' 10-5171000-2
Pre-Field Activities
• A pre-work site visit was conducted on March 6, 1995, and attended by Mr Saiyed All
of Caltrans and Mr John Juhrend of Geocon to perform a preliminary survey of the work
areas and to review the task order The Site Visit Checklist and Completion Schedule
' were subsequently discussed and signed by the Geocon protect manager and the Caltrans
contract manager A Notice to Proceed was also reviewed and signed subsequent to the
' pre-work site visit
Obtained a well permit from the San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS)
A copy of the well permit is presented in Appendix A
' Contacted Underground Service Alert (USA Ticket NO 69714) on April 17, 1995, to
advise subscribing utility companies of the soil boring activities
• Prepared a Workplan dated March 15, 1995, which describes the requested scope of
services, quality assurance/quality control sampling and laboratory procedures and project
' schedule
• Prepared a Health and Safety Plan dated March 3, 1995, to provide guidelines on the use
' of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the health and safety procedures to be
implemented during the field activities
3
