' Califorrua Department of Transportation July 7, 1934
Project No 102818A-01
ANALYTICAL TESTING
Groundwater samples collected were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as
gasoline by EPPte
od 8015-modified Department of Health Services (DHS), TPH as
diesel by EPA t 15d DHS, and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and
xylenes (BTEXPA test 8 0
ANALYTICAL RESULTS
i
Elevated concentrations of TPH as gasoline were detected in groundwater samples collected
from monitoring wells MW-A, MW-B, and MW-C TPH as gasoline was detected at
concentrations of 1,500 micrograms per liter (ogle) in MW-A, 588 ug/e in MW-B, and 1,200
µg/e in MW-C TPH as diesel was not detected in concentrations greater than the detection
limit in groundwater samples collected Elevated concentrations of BTEX were detected in
groundwater samples collected from all three monitoring wells Concentrations of benzene
ranged from 238 µg/e to 13,700 µglf, concentrations of toluene ranged from 151 µg/e to 418
ug/f, concentrations of ethylbenzene ranged from less than the detection limit to 14 5µg/f,
and concentrations of xylenes ranged from 45 7 Ag/e to 295 µg/e A summary of the results
i
of the groundwater analysis is presented in Table 2 The laboratory analytical report,
including quality control/quality assurance data and chain of custody documentation, is
' presented as Appendix B
i
l CONCLUSIONS
AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon the results of this study, the following conclusions and recommiendahons are
offered
- Groundwater is present at the site at an approximate depth of 65 feet bgs The
'
groundwater flow direction is estimated to be toward the north at an approximate
gradient of 00013 feet per foot
The results of the g dwater sampling and analysis program indicate concentrations
of TPH as gasolitral rom 588 to 1,500 Agle Elevated concentrations of BTEX
were also detecte r amples collected TPH as diesel was not detected
in the concentrations a`bodt e limit in any of the groundwater samples
collected
