05 March 2015 0 •
AGE Project No. 14-3214
SCOPE OF WORK
AGE proposes to advance a total of two (2) soil borings along the southern property
boundary at the subject property. Borings will be advanced to depths of ten feet below
surface grade (bsg) for collection of soil-vapor samples at five and ten feet bsg.
Proposed soil boring locations are depicted in Figure 2.
Borings will be advanced using a van-mounted Geoprobe 5400 direct-push drill rig.
Soil-vapor samples will be submitted to a California Department of Public Health
(CDPH)-Certified laboratory and will be analyzed for:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA-
method 8015-modified; and
• Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in accordance with EPA-method 8260B.
Upon completion of the field work and receipt of laboratory analysis, a brief report will
be prepared. The report will be reviewed and signed by a California Professional
Geologist.
PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES
Applicable drilling permits will be obtained from the EHD and a site-specific Health and
Safety Plan will be prepared. Prior to mobilization, each soil boring location will be
clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert. The
EHD will be contacted a minimum of five days prior to conducting investigation activities
to arrange for inspection.
FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative working under the
supervision of a California Professional Geologist. Procedures for sample collection and
analysis, equipment decontamination and sample handling are presented below.
SOIL VAPOR SAMPLING
Soil-vapor samples will be collected at depths of approximately five feet and ten feet
bsg in the proposed soil borings. Soil-vapor samples collected at five feet bsg will be
collected using a Geoprobe soil-vapor assembly. An expendable vapor point will be
placed into a point holder at the bottom of an assembly of 1.25-inch diameter hollow
Advanced GeoEnvironmcntal,Inc.
