Groundwater Monitoring Well and Extraction Well Installatlons Results Report <br /> • and Fourth Quarter 2005 Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> Flag City New West#1003,6437 West Banner Street,Lodi,California <br /> Page 3 <br /> November 9, 2005-Apex,New West, SJCEH, and the CVRWQCB had a meeting discussing the <br /> site and future work <br /> January 9, 2006-The SJCEHD Issued a letter requiring clarity as to the owner and operator of the <br /> site for the clean up fund, stating additional sampling was needed for the NPDES permit, <br /> requiring Apex to conduct a pumping test, and to evaluate other remedial alternatives <br /> WELL INSTALLATIONS AND SAMPLING <br /> Monitorin Well Installations <br /> On October 27-28 and November 30, 2005, Apex personnel supervised the drilling, sampling and <br /> Installation of five extraction wells (EW-1, EW-2, EW-3, EW-4, and EW-5) (Figure 2) Wells <br /> EW-1 through EW-3 were drilled and constructed by Woodward Drilling of Rio Vista, California <br /> and wells EW-4 and EW-5 were drilled and constructed by Cascade Drilling, Inc of Rancho <br /> Cordova, California according to the Apex standard operating procedures (SOP) Included as <br /> Appendix B <br /> On November 9 through 11, 2005, Apex personnel supervised drilling, sampling and the <br /> installation of four offsite groundwater monitoring wells (MW-5A, MW-5B, MW-6B, and MW- <br /> 6C) (Figure 2) The monitoring wells were drilled and constructed by Cascade Drilling, Inc of <br /> Rancho Cordova, California according to the Apex standard operating procedures (SOP) <br /> included as Appendix B <br /> All soil samples were collected at 5 foot intervals Soil samples were screened in the field with <br /> the use of a photo ionization detector(PID) Soil was logged using visual and olfactory <br /> observations according to the unified soil classification system Groundwater was encountered at <br /> approximately 15-feet below ground surface (bgs) Wells EW-1 through EW-5 were constructed <br /> as 6-inch diameter PVC well and installed to a total depth of 25 feet bgs with 20 feet of screen <br /> Well MW-5A was installed to a total depth of 25 feet bgs with 20-feet of screen, well MW-5B <br /> was installed to a total depth of 51 feet bgs with 10-feet of screen, well MW-6B was installed to <br /> a total depth of 50 feet bgs with 10 feet of screen, and well MW-6C was installed to a total depth <br /> of 74 feet bgs with 5-feet of screen Boring logs detailing the construction of the wells and the <br /> lithology encountered during drilling are included as Appendix C Well construction details are <br /> summarized in Table 1 <br /> • <br />
