Monitoring well soil samples will be collected at 5-foot intervals bgs and at obvious lithologic <br /> changes A minimum of three soil samples from each boring for wells MW-1 MW-2, MW-3A, <br /> and MW-4A will be submitted to a State-certified laboratory under chain-of-custody(COC) <br /> documentation for analysis Soil samples from wells MW-3B and MW-4B will be collected at <br /> 5-foot intervals from 25-feet bgs to total depth (50-feet bgs) only, due to their close proximity to <br /> wells MW-3A and MW-4A, respectively The soil sample collected at total depth will be <br /> submitted for analysis <br /> Soil lithology and visual and olfactory observations will be recorded in the field and used for the <br /> possibility of additional soil sample submittal In addition, all soil samples will be field screened <br /> with the use of a photo ionization detector (PID) All fieldwork will be conducted in accordance <br /> with the Apex standard operating procedures (SOP) included in Appendix B Soils encountered <br /> during the well installations will be logged according to the unified soil classification system, <br /> under the supervision of a State of California registered professional geologist <br /> All soil generated during drilling activities will be temporarily stored in 55-gallon drums onsite, <br /> pending receipt of laboratory analytical results Once the analytical results are review, a proper <br /> disposal method will be determined <br /> GROUNDWATER SAMPLING <br /> • The new groundwater monitoring wells will be developed, according to the Apex SOP, included <br /> in Appendix B, and the top of the casing elevations will be surveyed, referenced to mean sea <br /> level, by a licensed surveyor <br /> All monitoring wells will be sampled according to the Apex SOP All groundwater samples will <br /> be submitted, under COC documentation, to a state-certified laboratory for the analysis listed <br /> below <br />
