Monitoring well soil samples will be collected at 5-foot intervals bgs and at obvious lithologic
changes A minimum of three soil samples from each boring for wells MW-1 MW-2, MW-3A,
and MW-4A will be submitted to a State-certified laboratory under chain-of-custody(COC)
documentation for analysis Soil samples from wells MW-3B and MW-4B will be collected at
5-foot intervals from 25-feet bgs to total depth (50-feet bgs) only, due to their close proximity to
wells MW-3A and MW-4A, respectively The soil sample collected at total depth will be
submitted for analysis
Soil lithology and visual and olfactory observations will be recorded in the field and used for the
possibility of additional soil sample submittal In addition, all soil samples will be field screened
with the use of a photo ionization detector (PID) All fieldwork will be conducted in accordance
with the Apex standard operating procedures (SOP) included in Appendix B Soils encountered
during the well installations will be logged according to the unified soil classification system,
under the supervision of a State of California registered professional geologist
All soil generated during drilling activities will be temporarily stored in 55-gallon drums onsite,
pending receipt of laboratory analytical results Once the analytical results are review, a proper
disposal method will be determined
GROUNDWATER SAMPLING
• The new groundwater monitoring wells will be developed, according to the Apex SOP, included
in Appendix B, and the top of the casing elevations will be surveyed, referenced to mean sea
level, by a licensed surveyor
All monitoring wells will be sampled according to the Apex SOP All groundwater samples will
be submitted, under COC documentation, to a state-certified laboratory for the analysis listed
below
