Enclosed is a memo
describing the status of the soil and ground water investigations and cleanup activities at the site.
Our files show that it has been over a year and a half since Chevron has conducted investigations at
this site. Both the soil and the ground water are contaminated with petroleum residues. Further
action on this site is needed. Therefore, by 22 October 1993 please submit a work plan to complete
the characterization of the lateral and vertical extent of contamination in the soil and ground water.
Also Water Code Section 13304 was recently amended to allow the Board to recover from
dischargers reasonable costs to oversee cleanup. We will be contacting you to set up this account.
If you have any questions please call me at (916) 255-3054.
DAVID E.
