'"WR 12 '92 14. 39 CKC:, I t 163?15921
WORK PLAN
SOIL AND GROUNDWATER SAMPLING
ALL PURE CHEMICAL COMPANY
TRACY FACILITY
C.&C., Inc. is presenting this Work Plan for soil and groundwater sampling at the
All Pure Chemical Company, Tracy Facility (Figure 1). This Work Plan was developed on
the basis of project requirements described by All Prue Chemical Company. We understand
that the objective of this project is to evaluate the potential presence of chemicals in sail and
groundwater at locations adjacent to the facility property boundary.
K PE QEMQRK
This scope of work describes activities to be conducted for the collection of soil and
groundwater samples from 13 borings to be constructed at the Tracy facility. A single soil
sample and a single groundwater sample will be collected from each boring at the time of
drilling. Each sample collected will be submitted for laboratory analysis to evaluate
chemicals potentially present. This Work Plan is comprised of four tasks which are listed
below.
Task 1.0 - Trial Boring Attempt
Task 2.0 - Soil Boring and Sampling
Task 3.0 - Abandon Soil Borings
Task 4.0 - Laboratory Analyses
Each of the above listed tasks are briefly discussed below.
TASK 1.0 - TRIAL BORING ATTEMPT'
At this time we are not able to determine whether hand angering methods will tic
successful drilling to depths of approximately 15 to 20 feet below ground surface at 13
locations within the Tracy facility. Therefore, we are proposing that an initial attempt to
hand auger a boring be made to demonstrate the feasibility of this method. The initial boring
will be constructed at one of the 13 locations require.d for this project in accordance with
protocol described in Appendix A. Therefore, information and samples developed from the
successful construction of this initial goring will become a part of the overall project.
naNQ2-Oi6 1
