The Work Plan proposes to install seven offsite
groundwater monitoring wells with the screen intervals varying between the three identified water
bearing horizons. The monitoring wells will provide additional groundwater quality, flow, and gradient
information. The Work Plan proposes to store soil cuttings on-site until waste profiling is performed to
evaluate proper disposal and to use the water generated during the investigation as process water for the
plant. We have the following comments on the Work Plan:
1. Pioneer needs to store the water generated from investigation activities until analytical results
determine whether the water is suitable as process water.
2. Monitoring wells should have no more than 15 feet of screen.
The Work Plan is hereby approved. By 7 August 2001,please provide an update on access negotiations
along with an updated schedule for Work Plan implementation.
