SECTION 3
FINDINGS
3.1 Laboratory Results
The results of the sampling and testing performed as part of this investigation are presented in
the following section. Please refer to Data Summary Table 1 through Table 4 in Appendix B
for a summary of the laboratory results. The boring logs are provided in Appendix C, and the
analytical laboratory reports and chain-of-custody forms are included in the Appendix D.
Sage separated the results from the Phase I1 Investigation to differentiate the work necessary to
close out the RECs or Other Concerns identified by ENVIRON from the work necessary to
establish a baseline of the existing environmental conditions at the plant, although all of the
Sage work constitutes the baseline.
3.2 RECs or Other Concerns
3.2.1 Long Industrial Use of Site
Results of the soil sample collected from SB-1 (Current Hazardous Waste Storage
Area)indicated that no VOCs were detected above the method detection limits in this
soil sample.
Results of the soil sample collected from SB-2 (Former Paint Booth Area)indicated
that no VOCs were detected above the method detection limit in this soil sample.
3.2.2 Former AST Containment Staining
Results of the soil samples collected from SB-3 and SB-4(Former AST Storage Area)
indicated that no VOCs were detected in any of the soil samples.
3.2.3 Historical Agricultural Use of the Site
Results of the soil sample collected from HA-I indicated that no Pesticides or
Herbicides were detected above the method detection limits in this soil sample.
3.2.4 On-Site Sumps
Results of the sediment samples collected from Sump NE Field and Sump NW Field
indicated TPH detections in the soil sample above the laboratory detection limits.
Results from the sample collected from Sump NE Field indicated a TPH DRO level of
47.0 mg/kg and TPH ORO of 820.0 mg/kg. Results from the sample collected from
Sump NW 1 Field indicated a TPH DRO level of 94.0 mg/kg and TPH ORO of 920.0
mg/kg. All of the sump samples collected are below the San Francisco Bay RWQCB:
commercial screening levels of 180 mg/kg for TPH DRO and 2,500 mg/kg for TPH
ORO.
Sage Environmental Consulting,L.P. 3-1 Westlake Chemical Company
July 2013 Lodi,CA,Phase II Investigation
