• • aclaytoli
e.o.
i
light of that assignment. The services provided by Clayton in completing this project
were consistent with normal standards of the profession. No other warranty, expressed or
implied, is made.
2.0 SCOPE OF WORK
The scope of work for this investigation involved evaluating soil at locations depicted on
Figure 2. The investigation consisted of pre-field activities, field activities, laboratory
analysis, data interpretation, and report preparation.
2.1 PRE-FIELD ACTIVITIES
The purpose of the pre-field activities was to appropriately plan the work and to ensure
' that onsite personnel were prepared for potential safety hazards at the property. Prior to
conducting the field activities Clayton completed the following:
• Obtained a drilling permit from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department(SJCEHD).
• Prepared a Site Health and Safety Plan (SHSP) to reflect the work proposed at the
subject property. The SHSP detailed the work to be performed, safety precautions,
emergency response procedures, nearest hospital information, and onsite personnel
responsible for managing emergency situations.
• Marked the proposed boring locations and the Site boundaries with white paint and
notified Underground Service Alert(USA) at least 48 hours prior to performing field
activities, as required by law.
• Clayton also utilized a private utility locating service to ensure that the proposed
boring locations were clear of underground utilities prior to drilling. All soil boring
locations were cleared for subsurface utilities on April 14, 2005 by California Utility
Surveys (CU Surveys) located in San Ramon, California.
2.2 FIELD ACTIVITIES
On April 14, 2005 Mr. Craig Pelletier supervised the advancement of seven exploratory
borings (SB-1 through SB-7) at locations depicted on Figure 2. Borings were placed
based on site uses, building location, and accessibility, as follows:
• SB-1: Drum storage area
• SB-2: Drum storage area
• SB-3: Sump/catch basin area
• SB-4: Plate washing area
• SB-5: Plate washing area (adjacent to floor drain)
• SB-6: Press pit area
• SB-7: Press pit area
PUSS WROMCTS\2WS05628 M Service CompanyThwe 11 ESA.doc 2
