CA 93309
ESTIMATE OF BOARD CLEANUP OVERSIGHT TIME FOR YEAR 1997-98, TEXACO
TRADING & TRANSPORTATION SITES
As you know, Section 13304 of the Porter-Cologne Water Quality Control Act allows the Regional
Board to recover reasonable expenses from responsible parties to oversee cleanup and abatement of
unauthorized discharges which have adversely affected waters of the state. Reimbursement accounts
have been created for your facilities, and the Regional Board time charges are billed to you. In July of
each year, we provide an estimate of the time to be spent and an approximation of the work that may be
performed at each site for the next fiscal year. Attachment 1 lists the activities that may be conducted on
your facilities during the 1997-98 fiscal year.
We estimate that we will expend approximately 40 labor hours conducting cleanup oversight for these
sites in the fiscal year 1997-98, which begins 1 July 1997 and ends on 30 June 1998. The sites and their
respective estimated hours are as follows:
Texaco Renown Property - PCA# 185-56 20 hours
Byron Corridor- PCA# 205-70 20 hours
The number of hours is merely an estimate; the actual time needed will depend on the nature and extent
of the necessary cleanup. You will be billed for the actual hours spent. The State billing rate is
approximately $70 per hour, but the rate may vary depending on the salary of the individual(s)
responsible for the oversight. Attachment 2 lists the billing rates for the classes of employees that may
be working on these sites.
If you have any questions, please call Ms. Wendy Wyels at (916) 255-3078.
J,Iu.
