Box 6012
San Ramon, CA 94583
REVIEW OF WORKPLAN—ADDITIONAL INVESTIGATION, 990 BEECHNUT PROPERTY,
TRACY, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
We have reviewed the Workplan, dated 28 May 2004, for the ChevronTexaco Old ValValu iesi eliwestern OVP)
project at the 990 Beechnut property located in Tracy. The 990 Beechnut property p
portion of the former TAOC Tracy Pump or ChevronTexaco by Geomatrix Consultants, con located along Beechnut Avenue, west f racy
Boulevard. The Workplan was prepared f
According to previous investigation reports conducted at the property, petroleum hydrocarbons have
impacted soil and groundwater onsite. Based on the most recent groundwater investigation report, the
extent of impacted groundwater has not been delineated downgradient to the north (offsite).
The Workplan proposes to advance four soil borings offsite, two within 9th Street and two on a nearby
commercial property, downgradient of the property. The purpose of the borings is to delineate the lateral
extent of impacted groundwater downgradient (north). Depending on the results of the field work,
additional borings, monitoring wells, and soil and groundwater sampling may be required to assess the
lateral extent of impacts to soil and groundwater.
We concur with the proposed Workplan for the 990 Beechnut property, dated 28 May 2004. Please notify
Regional Board staff at least 48 hours prior to start of the field activities.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact Dean Hubbard at (559) 445-5179.
SHELTON R.
