t KLE/NFELOER
ATTACHMENT A
SCOPE OF WORK
Groundwater Sampling and Analyses
Proposed Land Application Areas
Oakwood Lake Water District, Wastewater Treatment Plant
Manteca, California
File No. 124374.T2
August 15, 2013
BACKGROUND
OLWD
s located(R5-2006-0114)iManteca,
for their Plate 1) and
currently has Waste Discharge
Kleinfelder understands that OLWD is currently evaluating and addre ater Treatment
ing actions towards
obtaining approval for Phase II expansion of their permit to discharge wastewater too a d
application areas, as generally outlined in the Waste Discharge Requirement.
The RWQCB has stated in a meeting on March 10, 2010, that additional grab groundwater
sampling using push probe technology would be acceptable to obtain additional background
information for the 44 lots by RD 17 (LAA No. 7R). In addition to this application area, OLWD
has indicated the desire to potentially utilize approximately 37 additional perimeter lots located
in the northeast corner of the site (Proposed LAA No. 10) as well as the area located in the
northwest corner (LAA No. g) adjacent to the proposed Basin 2. The 37 additional perimeter
lots are due south of Basin 1, north and east of Chiavari Way and south of Rapallo Way.
Kleinfelder presently assumes temporary push probe well data will also be acceptable to the
RWQCB for these areas as well.
Kleinfelder has developed this work plan and the following scope of work to obtain additional
background groundwater data in said areas.
PROPOSED SERVICES
The following tasks details Kleinfelder's proposed scope of work based upon our understanding
of current site conditions and discussions with the RWQCB on March 10, 2010 and follow up
discussion with Mr. Pat Toohey. Tasks 1 through 3 will address obtaining additional
background groundwater data and subsequent reporting.
Task 1 — Permitting and Pre-Field Activities
EHD requires completion of a well boring/probe permit for the site and payment of fees prior to
advancement of the probes. Kleinfelder will prepare a well boring/probe permit application and
work plan for submittal to EHD along with the required fees. The permit must be approved prior
to field activities and sampling. EHD usually requires up to two weeks to issue the permits.
The push probe subcontractor and/or Kleinfelder will contact Underground Service Alert (USA)
48 hours prior to conducting fieldwork to notify various utilities of our proposed subsurface
124374.T1/ST013R0535 copyright 2013 Kleinfelder
