In addition, the CVRWQCB requested that we
resolve any permitting issues with San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
regarding proper well destruction methods.
EHD approved our work plan with the condition that wells MW-1 and MW-2 be destroyed by
drilling out the wells rather than by pressure-grouting. We plan to drill out wells MWA and
MW-2 as specified by EHD. The remainder of the wells will be destroyed by pressure-grouting
per EHD guidelines. EHD has received our permit applications, permit fees, and access
agreement and encroachment permit documentation. We expect that EHD will issue our
permits in early July.
We have scheduled field activities for July 15,and 20-23,2009. The scheduled work activities
for each field day are described below.
July 15,2009: CRA will be onsite to perform a utility survey with a private utility locating
contractor. This work is not invasive and is expected to be completed in one day. This work is
performed to assure that no underground utilities will be encountered during the well
destruction work.
July 20, 2009: Wells MW-13 and MW-5 will be destroyed first in an attempt to minimize the
impact to the restaurant located on that property. Onsite wells MW-1 and MW-2 will be drilled
out and backfilled with cement grout. If additional time is available on this day we will
pressure-grout some of the shallow onsite monitoring wells.
Equal
Employment
Opportunity Employer
Worldwide Engineering, Environmental, Construction.and IT Services
