Main Street
Stockton, CA. 95202-3029
RE: Work Plan for Soil and Groundwater Assessment
7-Eleven Store#14113
3040 W. Benjamin Holt Drive
Stockton, CA
Stantec Project No.: 77EL.14113.28.0104
To Whom It May Concern:
This work plan was prepared by Stantec Consulting Corporation (Stantec) on behalf of 7-Eleven
Inc. for the advancement of four direct-push soil borings at 7-Eleven store #14113, located at
3040 West Benjamin Holt Drive in Stockton, California (Figures 1 and 2).
7-Eleven owns the property and has operated a convenience store at the site since 1986. While
7-Eleven has never operated a gas station at the site, it leased a portion of the property to
Exxon who operated a gas station (#7-3330) until 1991 immediately west of the current 7-
Eleven store building (Figure 2). The Exxon service station building was demolished in
September 1991 and the gasoline underground storage tanks (USTs), associated fueling
piping/equipment and one waste oil UST were removed by Exxon in October 1991. San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJEHD) files indicate that a fuel release
occurred at the Exxon service station and that a Local Oversite Program (LOP) case was
opened (LOP #1022). The SJCEHD issued their case closure letter for the former Exxon
service station (LOP#1022) in a letter dated October 1, 1996.
As 7-Eleven is moving forward with plans to install LISTS and associated fueling facilities,
Stantec is conducting a Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA). The Phase II portion
of the ESA includes the collection of soil and groundwater samples from the site to determine
current subsurface conditions at the site prior to installation of the 7-Eleven LISTS and fueling
system.
SCOPE OF WORK
Stantec proposes to advance a total of four direct-push soil borings at the locations shown in
Figure 2 in order to collect current soil and groundwater samples. Data obtained from the
advancement of the soil borings will be used to investigate and/or evaluate the current presence
