GTI's report also
describes the results of groundwater monitoring which was performed on June 27, 1994.
There were four soil .borings and one groundwater monitoring well drilled during the additional
subsurface investigation. Soil and groundwater samples were collected and analyzed for the
presence of TPHGas and BTEX constituents. TPHGas and BTEX were detected in soil at all
boring and well locations. The greatest concentrations were detected in the capillary fringe (15 ft.
below surface) at boring SB-2.
During June, GTI gauged and sampled all nine site-related wells. The measured direction of
groundwater flow was toward the east. Dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons were detected at all
wells except MW-3; MW-4, MW-7, and MW-8. The detected concentrations were consistent with
those measured during previous monitoring events.
The results presented in GTI's report add further definition to the extent of residual hydrocarbons
in soil. These data will be used to effectively design and implement the remedial action plan. The
plan for corrective action will be submitted to your agency by January 31, 1995.
If you have any questions or comments, I can be reached at(510) 842-8695.
Sincerely,
RecyGF,ad
