Preparation of 4 problem assessment report has been :delayed, since the <br /> downgradient well to define the extent of groundwater contamination has not yet been installed. Please begin <br /> preparation of the problem assessment report due October'29, 1993. The problem assessment report should <br /> evaluate soil and groundwater remedial alternatives and may or may not include the results from the <br /> installation of the downgradient well. <br /> PHS/EHD, in correspondence dated March 23, 1993,;,requested that efforts proceed to obtain a City of <br /> Stockton encroachment permit,in order to install a monitoring well downgradient"of MW6. Numerous delays <br /> and problems have been encountered during negotiations between the City of Stockton and Chevron. To-date, <br /> no agreement has been reached. Please continue efforts to secure the_necessary permits from the City of <br /> Stockton.
