Benjamin Holt Dr.
Stockton, CA
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health
Division (PHS/EHD) has reviewed the "Quarterly Groundwater
Monitoring Report" dated July 22, 1992 and the "Summary Report"
dated April 8, 1992 for the above referenced site.
In March 1992 downgradient monitoring well #6 and upgradient
monitoring well #7 were installed and groundwater samples were
collected from all monitoring wells. Quarterly sampling of all
the monitoring wells occurred June 1992.
PHS/EHD has not received a quarterly report for the third quarter
of 1992 and was not notified of groundwater sampling during that
period.
At the meeting with Arco and Chevron representatives on January
28, 1992 at the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control
Board office a date of June 30, 1992 was set for submittal of a
"Problem Assessment Report?" as outlined in Tri-Regional
Guidelines Appendix A) if the installation of monitoring wells 6
and 7 defined the extent of the groundwater contamination. The
groundwater sample results from two samplings of these wells
indicate that monitoring well 7 defines the extent of
contamination upgradient and that further sample results from
monitoring well 6 results are needed to evaluate the extent of
contamination downgradient.
A "Problem Assessment Report" or a work plan for an additional
monitoring well should be submitted to PHS/EHD by February 1,
1993 . Investigation and remediation of this site has been slow.
The present levels of contamination warrant more timely
attention.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health tare Services
