AGR
K.Foley/20 January 1989 2
SOIL VAPOR SURVEY
As part of a site characterization, WGR will conduct a SVS to better
delineate the extent of volatile hydrocarbons in the subsurface. The survey will
be conducted according to WGR's standard operating procedure for soil vapor
. surveys included as Attachment 2. Approximately 30 soil vapor sampling points
will be installed at 5 ft and 15 ft below grade at about 15 locations as
indicated in Figure 2 of Attachment 1. The locations will vary depending on
access and the location of underground obstacles, which will be identified by
a line locating service.
SUMMARY
The objective of this proposed workplan is to better define the horizontal
and vertical extent of volatile hydrocarbons in the unsaturated soil beneath the
site. The results of the SVS will be utilized along with other information to
design a more extensive site assessment plan.
We appreciate your timely review of this workplan. We would like to
schedule the SVS as soon as possible. If you have any questions or comments
please call us at (415) 457-7595.
Sincerely,
Western Geologic Resources, Inc.
Kahtleen A.
