Benjamin Holt Drive
Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Kith:
SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR), on behalf of Chevron Products Company
(Chevron), transmits with this letter the analytical reports for soil samples collected
during removal of a methanol dispenser and product line removal (Figures 1 and 2) at
the referenced site. Five soil samples were collected as part of the removal effort,
iincluding four from the dispenser product lines, and one from beneath the former
methanol dispenser. The locations of the soil samples are presented in Figure 2. The
findings of the field and laboratory work are presented below.
SITE BACKGROUNDIPREVIOUS INVESTIGATIONS
Chevron 9-4275 is an active service station located at the northwest corner of Benjamin
Holt Drive and Plymouth Road in Stockton, California. The service station was
constructed in 1973. The station was renovated to include additional pump islands and
product lines in the winter of late 1996 to early 1997.
The site is currently under an ongoing subsurface investigation and corrective action for
fuel hydrocarbons in the soil and groundwater underlying the site. Corrective action
currently includes air sparging to enhance microbial degradation of fuel hydrocarbons
and physically remove these hydrocarbons from groundwater. A soil vapor extraction
system at the site is currently inactive.
Soil Sampling—Product Line/Methanol Dispenser
On March 29, 2001, five soil samples designated A, B, B2, B3, and C were collected
from the excavations underlying the methanol product line and methanol dispenser.
Samples were collected in a trench approximately 3-feet deep directly beneath the area
3017 Kilgore Road, Suite 100, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 916.861.0400 916.861.0430 Fax trim.secor.com
