Ms. Lori Duncan i . Page 2 of 2
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
March 26, 2001
SECOR proposes to continue monthly sampling of municipal well No. 10 through August,
2001. This term will provide six monitoring results, which are intended to assess the
reproducibility of the March 2, 2001 low-level MtBE detection.
In addition to this monthly monitoring, Chevron will continue quarterly groundwater
monitoring in conjunction with the ARCO facility due south of the Municipal well.
Finally, Chevron will resume the planned assessment of shallow groundwater between the
Chevron facility and the Municipal well using several cone penetrometer test (CPT)
profiles to assess the soil lithology, water quality and develop an estimate of mass
discharge, if applicable.
Chevron requests San Joaquin County assistance with coordinating the monthly sampling
events through the City of Stockton and finalizing well permits through your office. We
would also appreciate comments to our planned activities when you have concluded your
review of this data.
If you have any questions, please contact Scott Gable at (916) 861-0400 ext 231 or Mr.
Bob Cochran at (925) 842-9655.
Sincerely,
SECOR International Incorporated
tt Gable, R.G.
Senior Geologist
SG:sg
Cc: Mr. Robert (Bob) Cochran, Chevron Products Company
Mr. Marty Hartzell, California Regional Water Quality Control Board—Region V
Attachments
i
i
1:1Chevron\942751Correspondence\LD_sg_3_23_01.doe
