2133 Drilling Variances—Version 2.0 <br /> Previously the project team tried to obtain San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> (SJCEHD)variance to pressure grout 18 wells for various reasons outlined in the 2183 Variance <br /> Summary.After discussing with SJCEHD,the project team reviewed other alternatives in an effort to <br /> reduce the# of variances sought. <br /> The original list of wells requested for variance included the following(A=Arco side,C=Chevron side) <br /> with a new evaluation adding additional levels of effort where possible: <br /> Approved Variance <br /> Well Well Requested <br /> I.D. Destruction Utility Conflicts <br /> Method <br /> Chevron Wells <br /> Overhead (Tree); 1/4" non-metallic utility intersecting well <br /> column (depth undetermined); requested property owner to <br /> MW- cut tree, and will use air knife to expose unknown utility to <br /> 6(C) Over-drill No determine if variance required based on field observations. <br /> Variance from client and Stantec required. <br /> MW- 6' from tank pit; assuming no pea gravel Stantec will <br /> 1R(C) Over-drill No overdrill this location. <br /> ARCO Wells <br /> Overhead utility 1o' south (15' high) and 9' northeast (15' <br /> high); Sanitary sewer 9"northeast of well column(1o"deep); <br /> r2(A) Over-drill No will install shielding on overhead lines and install conductor <br /> casing to protect sewer. If overhead lines cannot handle <br /> added weight of shielding, then County variance will be <br /> sought.Variance from client and Stantec required. <br /> Subsurface electrical line to station lighting 6" east of well <br /> Pressure column (1' deep); Stantec will provide lock out tag out to <br /> E 4(A) Over-drill Grout limit electrical shock exposure. Variance from client and <br /> Stantec required. Will need County variance. Serious <br /> potential for electrical line to get caught onspinning augers. <br /> Directly adjacent to above-ground vapor tank <br /> Over-drill No bollard/compound; vent lines directly adjacent; Stantec will <br /> FE-6(A) subcontract construction company to temporarily remove <br /> bollard so driller can overdrill location.Variance from client <br /> and Stantec required. <br /> Irrigation line 1'6" east of well column (depth <br /> Over-drill Pressure undetermined); Subsurface electrical 2'6" south of well <br /> E-9(A) Grout column (depth undetermined);ARCO station sign 6"west of <br /> well. Variance from client and Stantec required. Field work <br /> will result in loss of mature bush.Will need County variance. <br /> Offsite; Unknown utility 2' east of well column (depth <br /> Pressure undetermined). Variance from client and Stantec required. <br /> MW- Over-drill Grout Cutting power would take apartments residences offline for <br /> 3(A) 1-2 days. Stantec can't provide standby power to support <br /> apartments,will need County variance. <br /> Over-drill No Overhead utility (unknown voltage) 9' south); will install <br /> V-5(A) shielding on overhead lines and install conductor casing to <br /> protect sewer.
