kF <br /> SECOR <br /> International Incorpol cited t <br /> . r <br /> k 3,} <br /> September 10, 2002 <br /> Project No 77BP 52133 02 0001 SEP 12 2002 <br /> Mr Raymond Von Flue ENVIRONMENT HEALTHPERMIT/SERVICES f- <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Re Soil Sampling during Waste-Oil UST Removal <br /> ARCO Station#2133 <br /> 2908 Benjamin Holt Drive <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Von Flue <br /> SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR) has prepared this letter on behalf of <br /> Atlantic Richfield Company to document the excavation and removal of one waste-oil <br /> underground storage tank (UST) at the site referenced above (Figure 1) <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located at the intersection of Interstate 5 and Benjamin Holt Drive in a <br /> commercial and residential part of Stockton, California (Figure 1) The site is an <br /> operating service station with an AN"M mini-mart that retails gasoline fuel Four <br /> underground storage tanks (USTs) and associated product lines and dispensers are <br /> present at the site Since discovery of a piping leak in 1984, 20 groundwater monitoring <br /> wells, 14 soil vapor extraction wells, and nine air-sparge wells have been installed at the <br /> site A groundwater extraction system was operated intermittently from 1984 to 1996 <br /> In 1995, a SVE/AS system was installed at the site To date, the SVE system has <br /> removed 4,987 pounds of TPH-g from the soil and groundwater beneath the site <br /> Currently, ten groundwater monitoring wells are sampled quarterly and an additional ten <br /> wells are sampled semi-annually (Figure 1) <br /> i <br /> UST REMOVAL ACTIVITES <br /> Excavation and removal of the waste-oil UST was performed by Wendt Constriction on <br /> August 2, 2002 The excavated UST consisted of one 550-gallon double-walled <br /> fiberglass capacity tank, which was hauled by E C I and disposed of at their facility in <br /> Richmond, California The tank appeared to be in good condition with no holes or <br /> 3017 Kslgore Road, Sude 100, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 916 861 0400 916 861 0430 Fax www secor com <br />
