ARCO Products Company 3 <br /> ARCO Service Station 2133,2908 Ben amen Holt Dr,Stockton CA July 7, 1999 <br /> samples with concentrations ranging from 0 0517 mg/kg to 124 mg/kg Oxygenates <br /> DIPE, TAME, EtBE, TBA, and Ethanol were reported as nondetect in all samples <br /> Lead was reported In twenty-five samples with concentrations ranging from 8 2 mg/kg to <br /> 35 mg/kg Product fine, vapor line, and dispenser soil analytical data are presented in <br /> Table 1 and soil sample locations are shown on Figure 3 Field and laboratory <br /> procedures are presented as Attachment A Certified analytical reports and chain-of- <br /> custody documentation are presented as Attachment B <br /> Groundwater- UST Excavation and USTs <br /> During the UST replacement and upgrade activities, the majority of the two USTs not <br /> replaced were filled with tap water to help hold the USTs down during construction <br /> activities Additionally, groundwater was encountered within the UST excavation at a <br /> depth of approximately 13 feet bgs On March 19, 1999, Henderson Construction <br /> pumped a total of approximately 17,000 gallons of water from inside the USTs and from <br /> the UST excavation to a Baker Tank onsite (approximately 14,000 gallons form the <br /> USTs and 3,000 gallons from the excavation) Water stored in the Baker Tank was then <br /> treated by running the water through two 200-pound carbon canisters Once the water <br /> was treated, it was discharged into the sanitary sewer in compliance with the City of <br /> Stockton Wastewater Discharge Permit obtained for the site (Attachment C) <br /> Stockpiled Soil Removal <br /> Approximately 450 61 tons of soil generated during the removal of the UST, product <br /> lines, vapor lines, and dispensers were stockpiled onsite Approximately 140 tons of pea <br /> gravel were stockpiled onsite in a separate pile Samples were collected from each of the <br /> stockpiles for characterization Analytical results from stockpiled pea gravel were <br /> nondetectable for all constituents analyzed, and with the approval from Lori Duncan with <br /> the SJCEHD, the pea gravel was re-used onsite The 450 61 tons of soil was hauled by <br /> Dillard Environmental Services on May 30 and April 2, 1999 for disposal at BFI's <br /> Landfill in Livermore, CA Stockpiled soil analytical data is presented in Table 2 <br /> Certified analytical reports and chain-of-custody documentation are presented as <br /> Attachment B and soil disposal certificates are included as Attachment D <br /> SUMMARY OF FINDINGS <br /> • TPH-g and benzene were reported in one of the two soil samples <br /> collected from the UST excavation at concentrations of 690 mg/kg <br /> and 0 692 mg/kg (T-3W-15'), respectively MtBE was reported in <br /> both soil samples at a maximum concentration of 0 156 mg/kg (T-3E- <br /> 15') Fuel oxygenates TBA, DIPE, EtBE, TAME, and Ethanol were <br /> reported as nondetectable <br /> TPH-g and benzene were reported in six of thirty-two soil samples <br /> collected from beneath the product lines, vapor lines, and dispensers <br /> 7G600-019-04/PULL.DOC <br />
