B R O W N N D <br /> C A L D W E L L <br /> December 6, 1994 <br /> Mr Kyle Chnstie <br /> ARCO Products Company <br /> Post Office Box 5811 <br /> San Mateo, California 94402 017-1506-01/1 <br /> Subject Work Plan for Installation of Off-Site Groundwater Monitoring Wells, <br /> ARCO Facility 2133, Stockton, California, Site Code 1021 <br /> Dear Mr Christie <br /> This letter is a work plan for the installation of three ground water monitoring wells olf-site <br /> to the south and west of ARCO Products Company (ARCO) Facility 2133 located at 2908 <br /> Benjamin Holt Drive, Stockton, California The purpose of the wells is to define the vertical <br /> and lateral extent of hydrocarbons in the groundwater in the south and southwest direction. <br /> Upon approval by ARCO this work plan will be submitted to San Joaquin County and the <br /> California Regional Water Quality Control Board (Regional Board) San Joaquin County <br /> monitoring well permit applications completed in triplicate and a check in the amount of$178 <br /> for application lees are included in this work plan as Attachment A <br /> Upon completion of the field work, a report which will summarize the results of the field <br /> work will be submitted to ARCO in draft format. Upon approval by ARCO, the report will <br /> be submitted to the County and the California Regional Water Quality Control Board for <br /> approval The work described in this work pian will be conducted under ARCO task order <br /> number 2133-94-2 <br /> Background <br /> Hydrocarbon affected soil and groundwater has been identified at this site and is defined to <br /> the northwest, northeast, east, and southeast. The San Joaquin County Health Department <br /> (County) requested further investigation to define the extent of the hydrocarbons off-site to <br /> the south and southwest of the facility Currently a soil vapor exiraction/air sparge system <br /> and a groundwater extraction system are in operation at this facility <br /> Proposed Scope of Work <br /> BC will supervise the installation of three two-inch-diameter groundwater monitoring wells <br /> to monitor and sample the groundwater to the south and southwest of the ARCO facility. <br /> Figure 1 represents the proposed locations of the monitoring wells.
