./ %■■V
is a monitoring well, it is not a drinking
water well. It is not a water supply well, but
- one of the wells that they put in during their
initial investigation just to monitor the
shallow groundwater. That was put in April of
1991.
10. QUESTION: Do you have professional individuals actually
involved in the excavation process? In other
words,do you have licensed contractors?
EXXON
RESPONSE: Yes, I am a registered geologist and either
myself or someone that I am directing will be
on site for all activities. In addition, I am
a licensed engineering contractor and I am
working with people that Exxon works with and
they are licensed also in engineering
contracting with Hazardous Waste certificates.
Everybody has the proper credentials for this
sort of work. Greg?
EXXON
RESPONSE: All of our contractors are certified. They
follow the proper safety procedures on site,
and they sign contracts to work for us as
independent contractors, which meet our
requirements for certification and as well as
safety requirements for outside activities.
11. QUESTION: I just want to know if it is safe for me to
take my child to school.
EHD
RESPONSE: Basically, in our opinion, there are no
immediate hazards to anyone going to school
there. One of the reasons that we are going
through this process is to explain to you the
procedures that are going to be used when
additional work is done, which would be the
time when there might be emissions. Part of
what Exxon explained is that they will be
doing monitoring to make sure that there are
not emissions; So, the answer to your question
is, at this time, there aren't hazards
associated with air coming from off that site,
which would be the immediate route of exposure
to people in the immediate vicinity.
MODERATOR: If there are no further questions then I will
conclude the meeting. Thank you very much for
coming.
