M
QUESTION: The black plastic that you placed up against
the fence has come down. Are you going to put
. the
back up also?
EXXON
RESPONSE: No. The wind break was used during the
excavation activities on October 7th and
October 9th. We thought those were the most
appropriate times. Since then the plastic has
come down and it didn't seem necessary to put
it back up. The tank pit has also been lined
with plastic so there should be no vapors
escaping from that area.
QUESTION: What were the test results of the well closest
to the property? (meeting participant points
to map)
EHD
RESPONSE: Monitoring well ,#3.
EXXON
RESPONSE: The water has come back clean and the soils in
that well are clean. In fact, we took samples-
there was a waste oil tank near there and they
came up clean. We also ran. . . there were two
hydraulic lifts. . . we took soil samples there
which were not required and they cam up clean
and I put a soil boring, f B7 , fairly close to
this and all the samples there came up clean
so I feel confident that there is no problem.
QUESTION: How long will it take for the site to return
to its original condition?
EHD
RESPONSE: Well, right now we are addressing the soil
site and their proposal is to deal with
immediate removal. Once the soil is gone
there is no more contamination. What they will
deal with in the future will be the ground
water cleanup and at this point there's really
no way of knowing how long that is going to
take because they haven't completed their
investigation.
As Debbie mentioned, there are no plans at
this time to put another station there, the
property is not owned by Exxon. Southland
corporation owns the property.
EHD
RESPONSE: Diane, I might mention too in reference to the
question about that preexisting well. . . that
