• <br /> 1 <br /> Introduction <br /> The general purpose of the subsurface protect at 3128 West Benjamin Holt Drive in <br /> Stockton,California is divestiture of the site The project site is located in northwest <br /> Stockton,California at the southeast corner of the intersection of Grigsby Place and <br /> West Benlarrun Holt Drive,approximately 200 feet west of Interstate 5 (Figures 1 and <br /> 2) The site is surrounded by a shopping center and Shell gasoline station to the <br /> north, a residential area to the west, a water tower,the Small World Nursery (a day <br /> care center)and a residential area to the south and a Seven-Eleven parking lot and <br /> store,Interstate Highway 5 and Lincoln Village Academy (a day care center) to the <br /> east <br /> The site was an active Exxon Retail Service Station(Number 7-3330)from 1968 to <br /> 1991, Three underground fuel storage tanks and one underground waste oil storage <br /> tank were removed on October 9, 1991 The surrounding soil was removed from <br /> above the tanks,around the tanks to a width of about two feet and beneath the tanks to <br /> a depth of about two feet. A total of six monitor wells,MW-1 through MVV-6,exist <br /> on the site On November 7, 1991 monitor wells MW-1 and MW-2 were abandoned <br /> _ s <br /> rf <br />
