soil vapor intrusion mitigation system is in operation, but has not responded to AGE's
recommendation to collect crawl-space samples every six months along with the ambient and indoor
air samples. Please note that the Environmental Health Department approves the collection of the
crawl-space sample every six months now that the system is in operation.
Concerning the sites at 2353 Toste Road in Tracy and 1419 East Charter Way in Stockton, our
department has discussed these sites with Jim Barton and I am preparing Case Closure
Summaries for both sites to be sent to the Regional Board for closure concurrence.
Best Regards,
Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
1868 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95205
Phone: (209)468-9852
Email: vmccartney(cDsjcehd.com
From: Brian Millman [mailto•bmiliman advgeoenv.coml
Sent: Thursday, July 26, 2012 1:46 PM
To: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Cc: Robert Marty
Subject: LOP Site Updates, Scheduling, and Inquiries
Vicki,
We have not had any contact for a while so I would like to update you on work
performed and upcoming and inquire about the status of a few sites.
Weldon Church (104 West Beverly Place Tracy, CA):
On 25 June 2012, the soil vapor intrusion mitigation system was installed in the crawl
space at the site and has been operating since then. There was an initial delay in
installing the system due to resistance we encountered from the tenant while trying
to gain access to the property. That tenant moved out this month and the property
owner, Lacy Skelton, moved in. Therefore we should not encounter additional access
issues as we move forward with the project.
I have begun the process of coordinating and scheduling the initiation of the in-situ
chemical oxidation pilot test (ISCO) at the site. The pilot test will consist of three
weekly applications of the chemical oxidant with approximately two weeks between
each application. Additionally, based on the draft Monitoring and Reporting Program
a limited sampling event will be performed one week following each application. I will
notify you when I have confirmed the dates for the first application; I anticipate the
first application will take place during the third week of August.
Also, prior to performing the pilot test I would like to schedule a semi-annual ground
water sampling event for 02 August 2012. Wells MW-1, MW-4, MW-7, and MW-8 will
be sampled for TPH-g, BTEX and DCA; the baseline sampling for the pilot test was
performed in January 2012. Additionally, the day of the sampling event a sampling
port will be installed in the PVC riser of the vapor intrusion mitigation system and an
air sample will be collected to evaluate the air being extracted from the crawl space.
8/8/2012
