She was a very nice person and I appreciate your letting me know of her passing.
I will make an appointment to talk to Nuel about the ISCO injections and will get back to you after our meeting.
Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
600 East Main Street
Stockton, California 95202
Phone: (209)468-9852
Fax: (209)468-3433
Email: vmccartneyC_)sicebd.com
From: Brian Millman [mailto:bmillman@advgeoenv.com]
Sent: Wednesday, March 28, 2012 12:02 PM
To: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Subject: RE: Vapor Intrusion Mitigation System
Vicki,
No problem Vicki.
I heard back from the manufacturer of the Fantech fan proposed to be used in the mitigation
system, they said there is no decibel rating for that type of fan but it is very quiet.
I did not contact Terra-Petra, but after reviewing the plan and design I think one of the reasons
the piping along the eastern wall may be shorter is due to the double vent for the crawl space
located in the northeast corner. I think it was designed to minimize the amount of ambient air
brought in through those vents. I think that is one reason for the shorter piping.
Additionally, I spoke to Virginia Skelton late last week and she informed me that Lisa, her tenant,
passed away that weekend. It was a very strange coincidence to say the least.
I would like to discuss the ISCO injections proposed at the site. The November 2011 letter from
your office directed postponing the injections until the vapor mitigation system is installed, just in
case the injections exacerbates the vapor intrusion. If the Skeltons can't find a new tenant
immediately I think it would be prudent to get out there and start the injections. The field work will
be easier and a lot less intrusive if the house is vacant. Maybe we can get both things going at
the same time, the mitigation system installation and the injections. Either way we would really
like to get the injections going soon since the fund allocated more money to the site for this fiscal
year. Let me know what you think.
Thanks,
.3/28/2012
