r <br /> III . ADDITIONAL EXCLUSION PROCEDURES <br /> A. SIGNS <br /> Signs are posted at the entrance of the NCRC&SL which list <br /> the types of wastes which are prohibited. In addition to <br /> indicating- that hazardous wastes or liquids are not <br /> accepted, examples are given in non-technical language . <br /> Such examples include the common classifications listed in <br /> Section I of this report . An example of the signs posted at <br /> the entrance is given as Exhibit 3 . <br /> B . QUES`T'IONING OF CUSjnMERS <br /> All users of the site are questioned as to the contents of <br /> their load by the Refuse Worker on duty at the entrance . <br /> The customer is asked if their load contains hazardous/ <br /> prohibited waste . If the customer indicates that the load <br /> does contain hazardous/prohibited waste, the Refuse worker <br /> advises the customer to contact the County Department of <br /> Public Works Solid Waste Division at (209) 468-3066 for <br /> information on the proper disposal of the waste . <br /> C. OBSERV& ION BY SITE PERSONNEL <br /> In addition to observations for prohibited wastes that are <br /> conducted by the load checker in the Program, site operating <br /> personnel are trained and directed to notice and identify <br /> prohibited wastes which may be delivered to the site . These <br /> personnel include supervisors, gate attendants, and <br /> equipment operators . <br /> D. PERSONNEL TRAINING <br /> Training for site personnel has included S hours of training <br /> on the load checking program and will also include classroom <br /> training to include a "Basic Hazardous Waste Awareness <br /> Course" provided by the County Office of Emergency Services . <br /> This course includes information on Basic Personal Safety, <br /> Identification and Placarding, Agency Involvement and <br /> Cleanup of Hazardous Waste. Also, there is an adequate <br /> supply of minimal personal protection equipment provided to <br /> personnel at the site. I <br /> I <br />
