E . NOTIFICATION TO SOLID WASTE HAULERS <br /> The NCRC&SL is used by licensed/franchised haulers <br /> collecting commercial and industrial waste and by the <br /> general public . The license/franchised haulers have <br /> agreements with the County to perform these collections . <br /> These collectors received notification by mail of the <br /> following: <br /> Requirements of State laws prohibit the disposal of <br /> hazardous wastes, liquids and PCB ' s at the NCRC&SL. To <br /> monitor compliance with these requirements, a load checking <br /> program has been implemented at this site for detecting <br /> hazardous wastes, PCBs, and liquids which are prohibited 'at <br /> the site . <br /> Wastes which are prohibited are the following: <br /> ♦ Chemicals or chemical sludges which are toxic, <br /> corrosive, an irritant or a strong sensitizer <br /> ♦ Drugs <br /> ♦ Infectious wastes <br /> I <br /> ♦ Radioactive wastes <br /> ♦ Flammables or explosives <br /> ♦ Free liquids and liquid residues in containers in which <br /> the containers are greater than five gallons in volume <br /> ♦ Oil, batteries, or fuel wastes <br /> ♦ Pesticides or insecticides properly neutralized and <br /> rinsed containers are allowed <br /> ♦ Bag house or air scrubber wastes , <br /> ♦ Asbestos wastes <br /> ♦ Tank cleaning sludges or sediments <br /> ♦ Contaminated soil or sand <br /> ♦ PCBs (polychlorinatedbiphenyl) <br /> If prohibited wastes are delivered to County disposal sites <br /> by haulers, such wastes shall be removed from the site when <br /> detected under the load checking program by the responsible <br /> party, within 48 hours from time of detection and disposed <br /> of by the responsible party as prescribed by State and <br /> Federal laws . <br /> -7- <br /> 1 <br />
