'The
plan will be reviewed and signed by each site worker and kept on the site during field activities.
y Utility Clearance: CRA will mark proposed drilling locationand s will clear the locations tough
hr
Jl Underground Service Alert prior to drilling. Granite indicated that borehole clearing using a private
utility locator and air lmifing is not necessary because the area was previously excavated, and the area
will be excavated again in the future to develop the site as a gravel quarry.
Site Investigation: Assuming the absence of subsurface and overhead obstructions, CRA will use a
hollow-stem auger drill rig to drill twenty-three soil borings at the approximate locations shown on
Figure 2. The soil borings will be advanced to depths between 9.5 and 11.5 fbg, depending on
encountered soils. Soil samples will be collected continuously from approximately 3 fbg for soil
description and possible chemical analysis. In soil borings where fill-sand is encountered, soil samples
will be collected at the base of the fill-sand within native soil, and 2 feet past the first sample. In soil
borings where fill-sand is not encomtered, soil samples will be collected from approximately 5 and 9 fbg.
CRA will prepare an exploratory bring log for each boring.
Soil samples designated for cherval analysis will be collected in stainless steel or brass soil tubes, and
sealed with Teflon tape and plat end caps. Samples will be stored appropriately and transported to a
State-approved laboratory undcchain-of-custody. For quality control purposes, one laboratory split
sample will be analyzed for evt 10 samples collected.
2
060140 Worldwide Engineering,Environmental,l onstruetion,end IT Services
