Brandt Road <br /> Lockeford. California <br /> Dear Mr. Gandt: <br /> On November 1, 1990, Danie! J. Davis, Field Geologist Representing SCS Engineers, <br /> attended a soil excavation at 12101 E. Brandt Road. Falcon Energy, under <br /> Superintendent Jim Floblitzell,was the contractor performing the soil,excavatio, <br /> soil excavation was performed at the Ceco Building site, 12101 East Brandt I�oad, <br /> Lockeford, California (see Figure 1). The pit was dug adjacent to the east side of <br /> knr removed tank number 1 (see Figure 2), in the vicinity of the dispenser pumps. <br /> Field Methods <br /> a The SCS Field Geologist oversaw the excavation of approximately 40 cubic yards of <br /> contaminated soil which was stockpiled on-site, The excavated soil was placed <br /> } between uvo layers of 7 mil visqueen. Seven (7) soil samples were: taken in clean <br /> k+. brass tubes (see Figure 3j. Three soil samples were taken from the excavation. A <br /> sample was taken from the north sidewall and a sample taken from the east sidewall. 13 <br /> They were designated S-1 and S-2. One sample designated B-1, was taken from the <br /> bottom of the excavatio;i. Four: (4) random soil samples were .taken from the <br /> i <br /> stockpiled soil and designated P-1 to P-4. The ends of the brass tubes were sealed <br /> with aluminum foil, plastic end caps, and tape. The samples were labeled, placed in <br /> a cooler with ice, and shipped to a state-certified laboratory under Chain-cif-Custody <br /> documentation (see Appendix). <br /> Chemical Methods <br /> All soil samples were analyzed using EPA Method 8015D for diesel and 8020 for the " <br /> BTEX group.
