Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Re: ARCO Station *6080, 85 East Louise, Lathrop, California.
Dear Mr. Carts:
On June 3, 1988 I received a letter from Mr. Ron Valinoti that was dated
May 16, 1988. My letter responds to Mr. Valinoti's request as stated in his
letter. Enclosed with this letter is a report titled &oblem Assessment Repft
Arco Station 6080. LathrQp. California which is dated June 3, 1988. The
report was originally dated November 10, 1987 and I was under the
impression that it was sent to the SJLHD at that time. However, upon
receiving Mr. Valinoti's letter I reviewed the November 10, 1987 report and
found that it had been issued in draft form and was never sent to the S,jLHD
or the RWQCB. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Soil samples taken from six boreholes drilled at the site in April 1987 did
not contain any BTX compounds and only one soil sample, containing 29
mg/kg of TPH, exceeded 10 mg/kg of TPH. Groundwater samples from the
three monitoring wells that were installed at the site did not contain any
TPH or BTX compounds. Total lead was detected at extremely low
concentrations in the groundwater. Based on these findings ARCO believes
that this station is not an environmentally sensitive site.
ARCO would appreciate the SJLHD issuing an operating permit for the facility
upon review of this report. Please contact me at (415) 571-2434 if I can be
of further assistance.
APPCao25-C
ARCO PetroleUm Products Company is a Division of Atlamicsichfiewcompany (7-84)
