This work plan outlines the destruction of the monitoring wells at ARCO Service Station No. 6080, located at85 East Louise Avenue in Lathrop, California (Figure 1). The well destructions are being completed to obtain a "No Further Action" designation for the site, per your letter dated August 24, 2007 and the California Regional Water Quality Control Board's (CRWQCB) concurrence dated. August 17, 2007 (Attachment A). This work plan includes a brief discussion of the proposed destruction of monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-3. In addition, as requested a copy of the certified list of record fee title owners is included in Attachment B. i WELL CONSTRUCTION DETAILS The wells proposed for destruction at the subject site are monitoring wells MW-1,through MW-3. These four inch monitoring wells are constructed of schedule 40 PVC casing and screen installed to total depths of approximately 26-28 feet (ft) below ground surface (bgs). The well construction details are presented in Table 1. Each well includes a well box set in concrete and constructed flush with the existing ground surface. The soil boringlogs are included in Attachment C. WELL DESTRUCTION Health and Safety — Prior to conducting the well destructions, a site specific Health and Safety Plan (HASP) will be prepared for use by personnel during the implementation of this work plan. The HASP will address the proposed activities and a copy will be 'available onsite during field work. Subcontractors. performing field activities will also be provided a copy of the HASP prior to initiating work. Permitting - Well destruction -permits and associated fees will be submitted by the contractor executing the field activities. Well Destruction - The destruction of the wells will be supervised by the BP execution contractor. A licensed drilling company will complete the well destruction work following the California Well Standards bulletin 74-90 Part 111, Section 19 and 23 and San Joaquin County Well Standards Section 13.17. l 6080 Work Plan for Wells Destruction.doc SECOR International Incorporated
