This work plan outlines the <br /> destruction of the monitoring wells at ARCO Service Station No. 6080, located at85 East <br /> Louise Avenue in Lathrop, California (Figure 1). The well destructions are being completed <br /> to obtain a "No Further Action" designation for the site, per your letter dated August 24, <br /> 2007 and the California Regional Water Quality Control Board's (CRWQCB) concurrence <br /> dated. August 17, 2007 (Attachment A). This work plan includes a brief discussion of the <br /> proposed destruction of monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-3. In addition, as requested a <br /> copy of the certified list of record fee title owners is included in Attachment B. i <br /> WELL CONSTRUCTION DETAILS <br /> The wells proposed for destruction at the subject site are monitoring wells MW-1,through <br /> MW-3. These four inch monitoring wells are constructed of schedule 40 PVC casing and <br /> screen installed to total depths of approximately 26-28 feet (ft) below ground surface (bgs). <br /> The well construction details are presented in Table 1. Each well includes a well box set in <br /> concrete and constructed flush with the existing ground surface. The soil boringlogs are <br /> included in Attachment C. <br /> WELL DESTRUCTION <br /> Health and Safety — Prior to conducting the well destructions, a site specific Health and <br /> Safety Plan (HASP) will be prepared for use by personnel during the implementation of this <br /> work plan. The HASP will address the proposed activities and a copy will be 'available <br /> onsite during field work. Subcontractors. performing field activities will also be provided a <br /> copy of the HASP prior to initiating work. <br /> Permitting - Well destruction -permits and associated fees will be submitted by the <br /> contractor executing the field activities. <br /> Well Destruction - The destruction of the wells will be supervised by the BP execution <br /> contractor.
