`••,
08 December 2005
AGE-NC Project No. 01-0828
v
of each well boring may vary according to geologic/hydrogeologic conditions encountered during
drilling. Locations of the proposed ground water monitoring wells are as follows:
• One boring will be advanced approximately 10 feet north of former USTs Nos. 4 and 5;
• One boring will be advanced approximately 12 feet east of the dispenser island; and
• One boring will be advanced approximately 10 feet south of former UST No. 1. (Figure 2)
r
Selected soil samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health Services
(DHS)-certified laboratory for the following constituents:
v
• TPH-g and TPH-d in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified; and
• Benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene,and total xylenes(BTEX)and fuel oxygenates di-isopropyl
ether(DIPE),ethyl tertiary-butyl ether(ETBE),methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE),tertiary-
amyl methyl ether(TAME),TBA, 1,2-dibromoethane(EDB), and 1,2-dichloroethane(1,2-
DCA) in accordance with EPA Method 8260B.
Laboratory reports of both soil and ground water analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality
assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be
presented in a report of findings and recommendations.
3.3. MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION, DEVELOPMENT, & SURVEY
The three pilot soil borings will be completed as single-level ground water monitoring wells screened
from approximately 45 feet to 65 feet bsg. Following installation, each well will be developed to
'— maximize water flow and minimize the amount of fine-grained sediment drawn into the well during
pumping or bailing, and the top of each existing and newly installed well casing(well head)will be
surveyed to determine its elevation relative to mean sea level.
3.4. GROUND WATER SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS
V
Following the installation of the new monitoring wells, ground water monitoring and sampling
activities will be conducted for all of the wells on a quarterly basis for a minimum of one year(four
sampling events);monitoring activities will include recording depth to ground water measurements
and collection of ground water samples for laboratory analysis by a DHS-certified laboratory for the
analytes noted in Section 3.2.
'' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
