3rd Quarter 1995,Quarterly Monitoring Report
fFormer PureGroBrea Facility
• 1905 North Broadway Avenue,Stockton,California
Sierra-Pacific Project No.94-055.04
Water samples were placed in 500-m1 polyethylene bottles, unpreserved, and submitted for
nitrate (NO3) analyses using EPA Method 300 (Table 3). 'A second set of water samples were
fplaced in 1000-m1 polyethylene bottles, acidified with H2SO4, and tested for Total KjeIdahl
Nitrogen (TEN) using EPA Method 351.3. A third set of water samples were placed in 40-mI
VOA vials for purgeable halocarbon analysis (EPA Method 601). Laboratory analytical reports
` and chain-of-custody form are presented in Appendix C.
On behalf of Geo. F. Schuler, Inc., Sierra-Pacific collected ground-water samples at MW-I1 in
40-m1 WAS and amber glass bottles. These water samples were tested for total extractable
petroleum hydrocarbons (TEPH) by EPA Method 8015, total purgeable petroleum
hydrocarbons (TPPH)by EPA Method 8020,and BTEX(Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and
Xylenes) compounds by EPA Method 8020.
I
f 3.0 RESULTS
3.1 Ground-Water Chemistry
Concentrations of 0.78, 31, 21, and 19 4e 1,2-DCP were detected in ground-water samples
collected from monitoring.wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-5, and MW-6, respectively. No 1,2-DCP
.. ,was detected in the ground-water samples from MW-3 and MW-4 (Table 3, Appendix C).
Tetrachloroethene (PCE) was not detected in any ground-water sample during third quarter .
1995 (Table, 3).' Concentrations of. 2.2 and 4.0 mg/8 Dibromochloromethane (DBCM) were ,
detected -in. ground-water samples collected from monitoring wells MW-2 ' and MW-5,
respectively. No DBCM was detected in ground-water samples from MW-1, MW-3, MW-4, and
MW-6. Concentrations of 18 and.2.3 pg/C chloroform were detected in ground-water samples
from MW-5 and MW-6, respectively. A concentration of 3.1 4-e Bromochloromethane (BCM)
was detected in MW-5. No other volatile halogenated hydrocarbon compounds were detected
AD in this suite of ground-water samples.
Sierra-Pacific Groundwater Consultants 3
